LONDON (AP) — A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing spree on a train that left 11 people injured. The suspect, Anthony Williams, faces multiple counts of attempted murder and was also implicated in an earlier knife attack at a London transit station.
British Transport Police reported that Williams is charged with 10 counts of attempted murder and one of actual bodily harm. The earlier incident occurred early Saturday morning at the Pontoon Dock light rail station, where one individual sustained facial injuries.
Although the attacks caused widespread panic, authorities do not consider them acts of terrorism and have stated that they are not seeking additional suspects. Williams, a British citizen from Peterborough, appeared briefly in court and will remain in custody until his next hearing on December 1.
