I recently tried four brands of canned white Albacore tuna: StarKist, Bumble Bee, Trader Joe’s, and Good & Gather. I wanted to see how they stacked up against each other.

Bumble Bee Tuna

Then came Bumble Bee. I was surprised by how good it was! At first glance, it reminded me of cat food, but I learned not to judge by looks. The flavor was rich, and it had plenty of moisture, making it enjoyable to eat. This was definitely my favorite of the bunch.

Good & Gather Tuna

Finally, I tried Good & Gather. I had high hopes since it’s Target’s brand. However, it ended up being my least favorite. The tuna texture was hard, and the flavor was lackluster. It was quite similar to StarKist, but not in a good way.

Conclusion

In the end, Bumble Bee outshone the others with its taste and moisture. Interestingly, a recent survey from Consumer Reports shows that many people share this preference, with Bumble Bee frequently ranking high for flavor and quality among canned tuna options[^1].

It’s clear that not all canned tuna is created equal. So, the next time you’re at the grocery store, you might want to reach for Bumble Bee for the best flavor.
