Last week, a demo of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection was released, following the Partner Showcase. It’s a spin-off in the popular Monster Hunter series.
A recent video by ElAnalistaDeBits compares the demo’s performance on the new Switch 2 with the Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5. The Switch 2 runs at a lower resolution and generally reaches around 30 frames per second. However, in docked mode, it showed better stability than the Xbox Series S. In portable mode, though, the frame rate can sometimes drop below 30 fps.
This demo is still a work in progress, so things might change before the final game is released. Capcom confirmed that players can transfer their save data to the full game, slated to launch on March 13, 2026.
User reactions have been mixed. Some players are excited about the demo but point out the performance issues, especially in portable mode. Social media is buzzing with discussions about whether the Switch 2 can keep up with its competitors, particularly when it comes to graphics and frame rates.

According to a recent survey from the International Game Developers Association, nearly 70% of developers report focusing on enhancing gameplay mechanics, which could lead to an improved overall experience in the upcoming game.
