As the 2025 college football season approaches, there’s plenty to discuss. Teams are preparing, and changes are happening everywhere. Amid the chatter, one player stands out: Brody Bantolina of Pacific University. His recent recognition on the D3football.com 2025 Preseason All-America Team speaks volumes about his talent.
Last season, Bantolina, a junior running back, had an impressive year. At just 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds, he led NCAA Division III with 2,198 all-purpose yards. He also rushed for 1,533 yards, a new record for Pacific University. He set several records, including 256 rushing yards in a game and a 99-yard run. His 15 rushing touchdowns also tied a school record.
Despite his success, the Boxers’ 2024 season was a mixed bag. They improved from a 2-7 season in 2023 to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play in 2024. Ending on a high note, they secured significant wins against Willamette and George Fox, hinting that they might carry some momentum into 2025.
The upcoming season starts with an away game against Howard Payne University on September 4, followed by their home opener against 2023 Northwest Conference champion Whitworth on October 4.
From an overall perspective, college football has witnessed exciting trends in recent years. According to a survey by Statista, college sports viewership has risen steadily, with more fans tuning into games. This shift shows the growing popularity of college teams and their players.
