Ultimate Guide to 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outfield Rankings: Discover Top Tiers for Your Draft

We’re diving into my Shuffle Up series, which ranks outfield players for the upcoming fantasy baseball draft. The values you see are just my take on the talent landscape.

Quick Note: I’ve included Shohei Ohtani as a hitter in these rankings, even though he’s utility-only. I wanted to acknowledge his talent in the mix.

Outfield Overview

This year’s outfield depth feels balanced. It’s not overly rich but not too thin either. It’s a position you can tackle thoughtfully throughout the draft. Think about the lower-tier options you might snag later. This will guide your strategy for the early and middle rounds.

Tier 1: The Stars

If you thought Aaron Judge was incredible in 2022, wait until you see his performance in 2023. He achieved an impressive OPS+ not seen since Barry Bonds made waves decades ago. Judge is poised to dominate again in 2025, especially if he plays in a corner outfield spot.

On another note, Kyle Tucker was on track for a standout season until a shin injury slowed him down. As he enters his age-28 season, he’s likely to bounce back strong, especially with his talent intact.

Mookie Betts is another reliable pick. While he isn’t stealing bases as much anymore, he plays in a top-tier offense with the Dodgers. Betts can help you secure a safe play in your draft.

Corbin Carroll had a rocky start last season but turned things around in the latter half. His skills make him a solid option for any fantasy team.

The Brewers saw a lot of growth from Jackson Chourio, especially as he moved up the batting order. His second-half performance speaks volumes, making him a good target in the early rounds.

Tier 2: Solid Contributors

  • Jazz Chisholm Jr. – $27
  • Jackson Merrill – $27
  • Michael Harris II – $24
  • Wyatt Langford – $23
  • Teoscar Hernández – $22
  • Oneil Cruz – $21
  • Anthony Santander – $21
  • Ronald Acuña Jr. – $21
  • Bryan Reynolds – $20
  • Riley Greene – $20
  • James Wood – $19
  • Lawrence Butler – $19
  • Brenton Doyle – $19
  • Seiya Suzuki – $19
  • Cody Bellinger – $19
  • Luis Robert Jr. – $18
  • Spencer Steer – $18
  • Christian Yelich – $17
  • Marcell Ozuna – $17
  • Brent Rooker – $16
  • Ian Happ – $15
  • Kyle Schwarber – $15

Brent Rooker had a breakout season, showcasing the promise he had as a former first-round pick. The change in his park could impact his performance, but he’s still worth a look at a reasonable ADP.

As for Ronald Acuña Jr., he’s coming off two ACL surgeries. With a cautious return expected, you might want to tread lightly here.

Anthony Santander had a remarkable year last season. While his homer count seems inflated, he’s still a reasonable pick entering his age-30 season, particularly if he can maintain around 30 homers.

Seiya Suzuki is another intriguing option. He showed signs of improvement last year and might be ready to break out. Keep an eye on his performance in the Chicago lineup.

Tier 3: High-Risk, High-Reward

  • Mike Trout – $14
  • Steven Kwan – $14
  • Randy Arozarena – $14
  • Adolis García – $14
  • Dylan Crews – $14
  • Brandon Nimmo – $14
  • Pete Crow-Armstrong – $12
  • Colton Cowser – $12
  • Nick Castellanos – $12
  • Lane Thomas – $11
  • Josh Lowe – $11
  • Tyler O’Neill – $11
  • Jasson Domínguez – $10
  • Taylor Ward – $10
  • Tommy Edman – $10

It’s tough to assess Mike Trout. Injuries have limited him significantly in recent years. If he can stay healthy, he could be a game changer at DH, but that remains uncertain.

I’m not sold on Arozarena after his drop in performance last season. He’s not an elite base stealer, so that could limit his impact.

On the bright side, Pete Crow-Armstrong’s defensive skills and improved offense could earn him a higher batting order spot, presenting some upside for your fantasy team.

Tier 4: Looking for Upside

  • Jurickson Profar – $9
  • Kerry Carpenter – $9
  • Heliot Ramos – $8
  • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. – $8
  • Giancarlo Stanton – $8
  • Cedric Mullins II – $7
  • George Springer – $7
  • Ceddanne Rafaela – $7
  • Victor Robles – $7
  • Parker Meadows – $6
  • Alec Burleson – $6
  • Jorge Soler – $6
  • Nolan Jones – $6
  • Jake McCarthy – $6
  • Byron Buxton – $6
  • Evan Carter – $6
  • Michael Toglia – $6
  • TJ Friedl – $5
  • JJ Bleday – $5
  • Willi Castro – $5

With players like Giancarlo Stanton and Byron Buxton, it’s a waiting game—how many games can you realistically expect them to play?

Kerry Carpenter’s ability against right-handed pitching makes him intriguing, but he may be held back against lefties.

Willi Castro is versatile, giving you options across multiple positions. Watch for injury opportunities to enhance his playing time.

Tier 5: Low-cost Options

  • Jung Hoo Lee – $4
  • Brendan Donovan – $4
  • Lars Nootbaar – $4
  • Jordan Walker – $4
  • Wilyer Abreu – $4
  • Daulton Varsho – $4
  • Tyler Fitzgerald – $4
  • Garrett Mitchell – $3
  • Matt Wallner – $3
  • Jesús Sánchez – $3
  • Joc Pederson – $3
  • Luke Raley – $3
  • Christopher Morel – $3
  • Roman Anthony – $3
  • Michael Conforto – $3
  • Jo Adell – $2
  • Brandon Marsh – $2
  • Jacob Young – $2
  • Andrew Benintendi – $2
  • Starling Marte – $1
  • Masataka Yoshida – $1
  • Andy Pages – $1
  • Matt Vierling – $1
  • Jake Fraley – $1
  • Jeff McNeil – $1
  • Chas McCormick – $1
  • Harrison Bader – $1
