2025 was quite a journey for Penn State football! The season had everything—from a six-game losing streak to the thrilling win in the Pinstripe Bowl. Fans experienced the highs and lows, traveling from sunny Los Angeles to chilly New York.
Alongside the action, there was one thing that kept us energized: the food. Exploring different cities also meant diving into their unique food cultures, especially in the press box where we enjoyed various fare.
Here’s a rundown of the press box food at Penn State’s 2025 season games across the Big Ten. Spoiler alert: some places really wowed us, while others… well, let’s just say needed a bit more effort.
Iowa: Can’t Judge
Sadly, I didn’t make it to Iowa, but my colleagues raved about the food there. They claimed it was the best in the league! Too bad I couldn’t taste it myself.
Michigan State: A Missed Opportunity
Ah, Michigan State. The day was memorable for the game, but the food didn’t match. Our meal was just a hot dog and popcorn from a concession stand. Not exactly what I’d hoped for, given how welcoming the press box was. More substantial food would make a big difference!
Ohio State: The Smoothie Surprise
Ohio gave us an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, which was nice. Eggs and potatoes were fine, but the highlight? Unlimited McDonald’s smoothies! As a fan of strawberry-banana, I went to town on those!
UCLA: Good, Not Great
The food at UCLA was decent. I had a burger and some greens, but there was something off about the sausage. We could only get one serving, which felt limiting. More options would’ve been ideal.
Rutgers: A Warm Welcome
Rutgers surprised me with their hospitality. I enjoyed a hot chocolate on a chilly day and scarfed down some delicious chili dogs during halftime. The warm atmosphere made this game one to remember!
Penn State: Always a Treat
Nothing beats the food at home. Beaver Stadium never fails to impress. From chicken tenders to pasta salad, the offerings were satisfying and plentiful. It’s nice knowing we have such great food every game!
Pinstripe Bowl: The Grand Finale
Ending the season at Yankee Stadium was unexpected but fantastic. The food was excellent. It made the bittersweet end of the season a little more enjoyable.
This season taught us food is more than just a meal; it adds flavor to the whole experience. As we look ahead, let’s hope for more wins and even better press box food!
