UNC Gymnastics Shines at Regionals: Season Wrap-Up for No. 22 Team

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – The North Carolina gymnastics team recently concluded a remarkable season, finishing in the top 25 for only the fourth time ever. With a score of 196.250, they placed third in the first session and wrapped up the Tuscaloosa regional in sixth.

In the first event, the bars, Isabelle Schaefer shined with a score of 9.850, leading Carolina’s performance. Four gymnasts, including Claire Stippich and Gwen Fink, scored above 9.800, showcasing their strength right from the start.

Switching to the beam, the team excelled with a stunning season-best score of 49.325. JoJo Valahovic and Gwen Fink both scored 9.900, contributing to one of their strongest rotations of the day.

On the floor, Elly King and Kaya Forbes tied for the best score at 9.825. This was a special moment for King as it marked her first appearance on the floor for Carolina.

Ending on a high note, the team performed excellently on the vault, with every gymnast scoring at least 9.800. Kaya Forbes stood out again, anchoring the lineup with a top score of 9.875.
