UNCF Celebrates Morgan State University with Prestigious ‘HBCU Futurist’ Award: A Look at Excellence in Education

Morgan State University has earned the prestigious 2025 HBCU Futurist Award from the United Negro College Fund, Inc. (UNCF). This recognition highlights institutions that are shaping the future of higher education through technology, innovation, and partnerships aimed at student success and equity.

Selected from a pool of top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Morgan State stood out for its remarkable vision and achievements. Under President David K. In just three years, Morgan has secured 26 U.S. patents, breaking records for an HBCU. Thirteen of these were granted in 2023 alone. This commitment to innovation demonstrates how Morgan is reshaping higher education to meet societal needs while providing more opportunities for students.
