Starting today, YouTube creators can use a new AI detection feature. This tool helps them spot and report unauthorized videos featuring their likeness. After verifying their identity, creators will find flagged videos in the Content Detection tab on YouTube Studio. If a video appears to be unauthorized or AI-generated, they can request its removal.
YouTube rolled out this feature to some creators first, with plans to make it available to more users in the coming months. However, it’s worth noting that this detection tool might flag videos showing the creator’s actual face, including clips from their own content. This feature functions similarly to YouTube’s Content ID system, which tracks copyrighted material.
YouTube introduced this tool in a pilot program last December, partnering with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). They aimed to develop technology that identifies AI-generated content, allowing influencers greater control over their likeness online.
