Uncovering the Truth: How Authorities Foiled Two Teenage Girls’ Alleged Bomb Plot Against Memorial High School

A 16-year-old girl was recently arrested for threatening to bring pipe bombs to Memorial High School. Interestingly, she was taken into custody at a different Spring Branch ISD campus.

This news came out after two teenage girls were arrested, creating a stir in the community. Spring Branch ISD Police Chief Larry Baimbridge shared that the girl had attended Memorial High as a freshman but was currently enrolled in an alternative school called the Academy of Choice. This program helps students quickly catch up on missed credits.

The two arrested girls actually met months ago during off-campus classes and communicated through social media to plan their attack. The FBI intercepted these messages and alerted local authorities. The chief received a call about the situation on a Tuesday afternoon, leading to their swift arrest soon after.

According to Chief Baimbridge, the girls had specific plans that included placing pipe bombs around the school and using weapons against their classmates. Their detailed knowledge of police tactics was alarming.

The rapid response from law enforcement provided some relief to parents and school administrators. SBISD school board president Lisa Alpe praised the quick action, highlighting the effective collaboration between the FBI and local police. She emphasized the importance of school safety in today’s environment.

So far, investigators have not discovered any bomb-making materials. However, the case is still active. The Spring Branch suspect has reportedly confessed, and her mother is cooperating with the investigation.

Chief Baimbridge noted the underlying issues affecting these young individuals and sympathized with the families involved. As for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, they have not released new information, and details about the girls’ custody and court dates remain private due to their juvenile status.
