Chloe Humphrey, a standout player on the University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse team, is making waves ahead of the 2026 season. Recently named Preseason Player of the Year by USA Lacrosse, she’s also recognized as the Preseason Attacker of the Year. This comes on the heels of her impressive achievements, including the Honda Sports Award and the Tewaaraton Award for her stellar 2025 season.
Hailing from Darien, Connecticut, Humphrey broke records during her redshirt freshman year. She scored 90 goals, making her the NCAA’s all-time freshman leader while also setting a new single-season record for UNC. Her overall points tally of 118 placed her fifth nationally and second in UNC history. She not only excelled as a player, but she also took home multiple awards, including IWLCA Player and Attacker of the Year and the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Her success didn’t stop at the college level. This summer, she played for Team USA, contributing to their gold medal wins at the Pan-American Championships and The World Games. She even earned MVP honors at the Atlas Cup and was recently selected for the U.S. World Championship team for the summer of 2026.
