I’m thrilled to share something special with you: my new trading card game, Mood Swings. This idea sprouted 28 years ago, and it’s finally here! I wanted to create a game that’s easy to pick up and play, unlike some complex trading card games.
When you buy Mood Swings, you get a box containing 45 cards. It’s designed for 2 to 4 players, and a quick match takes just 5 to 10 minutes. You’ll enjoy all the fun of trading card games—like card interactions and collecting—without the need for complicated deck building.
The game features 133 unique cards: 48 commons, 40 uncommons, 30 rares, and 15 mythic rares. Each game will have a different mix of these cards, so every playthrough feels fresh. You might recognize some cards from friends’ copies, but there will always be new surprises. As Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic, says, this game is “bigger than the box”—each session uses some but not all of the cards.
In Mood Swings, each card represents an emotion or mood, bringing a unique twist to the gameplay. I’ve poured my heart into this project for nearly three decades, refining it to create an enjoyable experience for everyone. I believe it will be a hit among seasoned players and those new to trading card games.
Recent surveys show that many people feel intimidated by traditional trading card games. Mood Swings might be the perfect introduction. It’s simple yet engaging, combining strategy and fun in one delightful package.
