UNEP Alerts: Climate Change Poses Serious Threats to Seniors and Essential Ecosystems

Extreme weather is becoming a real concern, particularly for older adults and vulnerable ecosystems. A recent report from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) emphasizes this pressing issue. Released in Nairobi, the 2025 Frontiers Report declares that rising temperatures pose serious risks to older populations.

This melting is likely to release harmful pathogens—including bacteria, fungi, and viruses—into the environment. Many of these structures are becoming unsafe, which poses a risk to both local fishing communities and pristine landscapes.
