Unforgettable Fire Anniversary Events: Celebrate with Style and Excitement!

It’s been a challenging year for many in our community. The Palisades and Eaton fires left a lasting mark, affecting both those who lost their homes and those dealing with the aftermath—insurance issues, mental health struggles, and job losses. Yet, in the face of all this, our city’s spirit shines through, reminding us of our incredible resilience.

To commemorate the one-year anniversary of these fires, a series of events will take place throughout January. Many organizers are eager to have volunteers, so feel free to connect with them if you want to get involved.

Upcoming Events

With Us: Walk with Fire Survivors

  • Date: Jan. 4 & 7, 12 to 4 PM; Jan. 5 & 6, noon to 7:30 PM
  • Location: City Market Social House, 1145 S. San Pedro St., Downtown L.A.
    This event will spotlight stories from fire survivors, emphasizing remembrance and recovery through audio and visual storytelling. Hosted by the Department of Angels and Extreme Weather Survivors, it aims to unite the community.

House Museum: One-Year Fire Anniversary

  • Date: Jan. 7, 2 to 4:30 PM
  • Location: House Museum Chimney Yard, Shuttle from 333 Los Liones Drive, Pacific Palisades
    This discussion will focus on the community’s future and the preservation of architectural chimneys destroyed during the fires. It’s a chance to engage with local leaders and the architects involved.

Candlelight Vigil

  • Date: Jan. 11, 7 PM
  • Location: Altadena Town & Country Club, 2290 Country Club Drive, Altadena
    Join the community as we gather in memory of those affected by the Eaton Fire. Expect music from local performers followed by inspiring speeches.

A Concert for Altadena

  • Date: Jan. 7, 6:30 PM
  • Location: Pasadena Civic Auditorium
    Indie band Dawes, along with artists like Jackson Browne and Mandy Moore, will perform at this benefit concert supporting the Altadena Builds Back Foundation. Proceeds will support long-term recovery efforts.

Songs of Remembrance: A Memorial Service

Eaton Fire Anniversary Art Gathering

    Join local artists in making art and sharing stories as they honor the fire’s anniversary. Free handmade ceramic bowls will be given away to symbolize hope.

Community Prayer Services and Concerts

  • Location: St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 1031 Bienveneda Ave., Pacific Palisades
    These events will combine music and prayer to uplift the community.

Power Up Altadena! Festival

  • Date: Jan. 17, 11 AM
  • Location: Zorthian Ranch, 3990 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Altadena
    This colorful festival will celebrate Altadena’s diversity while marking a year since the fires. Performers from various backgrounds will showcase their talents.
