Unforgettable T20 Masterclass: Gambhir Praises Abhishek’s Record-Breaking Century as a Symbol of India’s Fearless Cricketing Spirit

Mumbai: India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, praised Abhishek Sharma’s stunning 54-ball century of 135 runs against England, calling it the best T20 hundred he has ever seen. He emphasized that the team’s approach will be to play “fearless” cricket in the future.

Abhishek’s explosive performance led India to a commanding 150-run victory, securing a 4-1 series win over England. Gambhir expressed his support for players like Abhishek, saying, “We will continue to back players like him. Patience is key as these young talents learn and grow.”

Gambhir was particularly impressed with Abhishek’s ability to dominate fast bowlers consistently bowling at speeds of 140-150 kph. He stated, “I haven’t seen a better T20 hundred against such strong bowlers.”

After a challenging series against Australia, there were concerns about tension within the team. However, Gambhir believes that winning will resolve any issues. “Our players understand the importance of wearing the blue jersey for 140-150 crore Indians,” he said, highlighting the pride and responsibility they feel.

Looking ahead, Gambhir hinted at adopting a bold strategy in the upcoming ODI series starting in Nagpur on February 6. He acknowledged England as a top-quality team and reiterated the desire to take risks. “We aim to reach scores of 250-260. Sure, there will be days we might get bowled out for lower totals, but that’s part of our aggressive game plan,” he added. “We want to entertain the crowd with our style of play.”

Regarding the recent controversy about Harshit Rana being a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube, Gambhir responded casually, mentioning that Rana bowled a few overs in the match.
