There’s exciting news for fans of Princess Diana. A new docuseries is set to reveal unheard tapes of her conversations about her complex life and relationship with the royal family.
Produced by Kerene Barefield and Naveed Chowdhary-Flatt, this project, titled Diana: The Unheard Truth, is a collaboration with 53 Degrees Global. The series will showcase exclusive access to tapes recorded in 1991 with Diana’s friend James Colthurst, which formed the basis for Andrew Morton’s book Diana: Her True Story.
This new series will feature about five hours of never-before-heard material, divided into three episodes. According to Love Monday TV, the revelations could reshape how the public views Diana. She opens up about the struggles of fame, her aspirations, and even imagines a future where Charles marries Camilla, which indeed happened. This scenario allows Diana to pursue her own dreams.
“Viewers will be amazed by her foresight,” the producers said. Diana shares insights on her relationships with Charles, Camilla, William, Harry, and even Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, all set against the backdrop of events that have unfolded since her passing in 1997.
Interestingly, research shows that public opinion about royal family members can shift significantly during big media moments. For example, a recent YouGov poll indicated that Diana’s popularity remains high, with 70% of respondents viewing her favorably, compared to just 35% for Charles. This ongoing interest underscores the deep emotional connection many feel towards her, even decades after her death.
The docuseries is being crafted with expertise, featuring editing by Sophie Todd and direction from Justin Frahm. Though a streaming platform hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s drawing attention worldwide.
This new look at Diana’s life promises not only to entertain but also to provide fresh perspectives on a figure who continues to captivate hearts around the globe.
