Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, recently inaugurated the ‘Bharat Bodh Kendra’ at the India Habitat Centre (IHC). His message emphasized the need for young people to connect with India’s rich cultural heritage.
The Bharat Bodh Kendra is designed to deepen understanding of Indian art, history, philosophy, and spirituality. It features a curated collection of books and resources, making it a perfect spot for community learning and engagement with India’s cultural stories.
During his speech, Manohar Lal praised IHC for its commitment to sustainability. He encouraged other institutions to adopt similar eco-friendly practices. The IHC stands as a model, blending cultural promotion with environmental responsibility.
After the inauguration, the Minister toured IHC’s expansive nine-acre campus. Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary of the Ministry and IHC President, along with Prof. (Dr.) K.G. Suresh, Director of IHC, accompanied him. They highlighted the campus’s unique architecture and its role in supporting cultural and intellectual activities.
Numerous studies show that exposure to cultural education positively impacts youth development. The Bharat Bodh Kendra aims to foster this growth by inviting everyone to learn about India’s diverse history and culture. It opens the door not only to historical insights but also encourages contemporary artistic expressions, thus bridging the past and present.
In recent years, social media has played a crucial role in cultural exchange, with platforms buzzing about initiatives like the Bharat Bodh Kendra. Online discussions highlight how such spaces can inspire a new generation to appreciate their roots while engaging in modern dialogues.
The event saw participation from prominent figures, including Sanjay Kulshrestha, Chairman of HUDCO, and Sanjay Shukla from NHB. Their presence underlines the importance of collaboration in promoting cultural awareness.
