FITCHBURG — The United Way of North Central Massachusetts has made a significant impact through its United Response Fund. This initiative has directed $157,433.77 to 17 local organizations that offer vital food assistance to families in need.
The fund was established in response to recent cuts in SNAP benefits, which have made it harder for many to access food. It provides fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable foods, as well as grocery gift cards. This support is crucial, especially for families during challenging times.
