Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan recently spoke at the Ganashram music-spiritual center’s groundbreaking ceremony. He emphasized how music in India unifies diverse hearts into one rhythm.

Subbulakshmi, and Ravi Shankar have played pivotal roles in shaping India’s musical landscape.
Radhakrishnan also discussed the universal nature of music. Despite cultural differences, all music revolves around seven basic notes. Each note carries emotional power—some can calm anxiety, while others can energize or uplift.
He pointed out that music has proven health benefits. It can regulate breathing, steady the heartbeat, and reduce stress. Radhakrishnan likened musical harmony to human cooperation, suggesting that aligning with a higher purpose can create harmony in life.
Ganashram aims to foster peace and community through music and meditation, welcoming people of all faiths. Radhakrishnan praised the center for uniting diverse individuals under the spiritual umbrella of music. He noted that both music and yoga enhance self-awareness and lead us closer to a peaceful state of mind.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi promoting yoga globally, it has become a potent symbol of India’s culture, bridging gaps between nations. Radhakrishnan underlined that music’s role in today’s fast-paced world is not just important; it’s essential for mental well-being.
Recent surveys show that a growing number of people globally are turning to music and meditation as coping mechanisms for stress, especially in uncertain times. In fact, 72% of participants in a recent wellness study reported that music improved their mood significantly.
