This year, 17 students and recent graduates from the University of Alabama are competing among 45 contestants for the Miss Alabama title from June 3 to June 6 at Samford University in Birmingham. The winner will represent Alabama at the Miss America pageant later this year.

Each contestant also highlights a personal community service initiative tied to a cause they’re passionate about. The state title brings a $15,000 cash scholarship, along with other awards and gifts.
Among this year’s contestants are Hailey Adams, the reigning Miss University of Alabama, and Ruby Tilghman, Miss Birmingham. Each contestant uses this platform to shine a light on important social issues. For instance, Hannah Adams, Miss Shelby County, promotes “Hannah’s Hope – Finding a Cure for Pediatric Cancer,” while Hailey Adams raises awareness about human trafficking with her initiative “Hidden in Plain Sight.” Chloe Yates, Miss Gardendale Magnolia Festival, focuses on the Special Olympics through her work aimed at “Deleting the ‘Dis’ in Disabled.” Other contestants advocate for diverse issues, such as childhood hunger, heart health, bullying prevention, and support for NICU families.
