TUCSON, Ariz. – Becky Burke, the head coach of Arizona Women’s Basketball, recently announced an exciting addition to the team: Blessing Adebanjo. She is a 6-foot-3 power forward/center originally from Lagos, Nigeria. Blessing joins the Wildcats after a standout year at Yamanashi Gakuin University in Japan.

During her season in Japan, Blessing made quite an impression. She averaged 15.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and an impressive 7.7 blocks per game. One of her most memorable performances was when she scored a staggering 45 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a single game. These achievements earned her spots among the Best 8 and Best 5 selections in the Rookies Tournament, along with the leading scorer award.

Her success didn’t stop there. She was honored as Athlete of the Year and stood out as her team’s top rebounder. Coach Burke shared her enthusiasm for Blessing, saying, “She is long, versatile, and exactly what we need to compete for a Big 12 championship.
