University of Cincinnati Men’s Golf Thrives at 23-Team Wyoming Cowboy Classic: Highlights and Results

MARICOPA, ARIZ.— Michael Senn III had an impressive performance, tying for 14th place, as the Cincinnati men’s golf team wrapped up their play at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. They finished 10th overall.

The tournament wasn’t without its challenges. Play was paused with a few holes left on Monday and resumed the next morning at 7:30 a.m. PT. The competition included four teams ranked in the top 50, with Long Beach State taking the win at an impressive 37-under, beating their nearest competitors by 14 strokes.

During the final day, Cincinnati improved their position, climbing three spots. Head coach Doug Martin reflected on the team’s performance: "We started poorly on Day 1, which put us at a disadvantage. We need to perform better right from the beginning. We had great chances but failed to make the most of them. We have three critical events left this spring before the postseason, and we really need to find our rhythm."

Senn has been on a roll lately, finishing in the top 15 in two of his last three tournaments with a score of 4-under in this one. Ryan Ford also made a comeback. After a challenging start, he shaved four strokes off his gameplay, ending with a solid 2-under 70.

Looking ahead, the Bearcats are gearing up for their next challenge at Missouri’s Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
