PARKVILLE, Mo. – The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team kicked off their 2026 season with a tough match against Westcliff University. They lost 3-0, with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, and 25-22.
In the first set, Jamestown started strong, trading points and keeping it close. They were just two points behind at one point, but Westcliff managed to pull ahead and clinch the set. The second set saw Westcliff take control early, which helped them secure a comfortable 25-16 win.
The third set showcased the Jimmies’ best play. They found their rhythm, generating consistent offense and putting pressure on Westcliff. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t close the gap, and Westcliff finished the set 25-22.
Chase Hawkinson led Jamestown with six kills. Kaden Jenkins provided support with eight assists, while Rowan Shaughnessy contributed defensively with five digs. Notably, the Jimmies achieved five team blocks, including two block assists by Brady Leppien-Christensen. They finished the match with a total of 19 kills.
Looking ahead, Jamestown is set to play against Ottawa University (Kansas) on January 23 at 12 PM in Parkville, Mo.
