University of Kentucky Cheerleader Laken Snelling Withdraws from School After Heartbreaking Loss of Newborn Found in Trash Bag

Laken Snelling, a cheerleader at the University of Kentucky, has made headlines after being accused of hiding her dead newborn in a closet. Following her arrest, she has withdrawn from school and can no longer participate in the STUNT team.

Snelling’s situation escalated when police were called to her home in Lexington about an unresponsive infant on August 31. Upon arrival, officers discovered the baby wrapped in a towel and placed inside a black trash bag in a closet. Unfortunately, the child was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death has not yet been determined by medical examiners.

Snelling admitted to police that she had given birth and moved to conceal it. She faces several charges, including abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Currently, she is out on a $100,000 bond but is required to stay under house arrest at her parents’ home in Tennessee until her next court hearing on September 26.
