Jacksonville, Fla. – December 8, 2025
The Atlantic Sun Conference has named Donte Bacchus from the University of North Alabama as the Player of the Week for December 1-7. This recognition comes after Bacchus showed impressive performance, leading his team to two important road victories.
Last week, Bacchus helped North Alabama achieve a 73-66 win against Jacksonville State and a nail-biting 65-63 win over San Francisco. He averaged 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over these games. This marks Bacchus’s first weekly honor after transferring from Snead State Community College last season. He joins fellow teammate Corneilous Williams, who received the same accolade earlier this season.
In total, the Lions have earned 11 weekly awards in the past two seasons, with Bacchus being one of five players to receive honors during this timeframe. His stats were strong: 39 points, 14 rebounds, and a shooting percentage of 57.1% over the week. Defensively, he contributed three steals and one block with minimal turnovers.
In the win against Jacksonville State, Bacchus led the team with 19 points and nine rebounds. He made a crucial layup late in the game that helped secure the win. He then raised the bar further by scoring a season-high 20 points against San Francisco.
Looking ahead, Bacchus and the Lions have a week off. They will return to the court on December 15 against Alabama A&M, with the game scheduled for 7 p.m. in Huntsville.
