The No. 18 Oklahoma men’s track and field team wrapped up their NCAA West First Rounds at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas. Several athletes made the cut for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, set for June 11-14.
First up, Ralford Mullings shined in the discus, tossing 67.21m (220’6") to take second place. His impressive throw was the best of three attempts that went over 67 meters.
In the triple jump, BJ Green secured the top spot nationally with a personal record of 16.94m (55’7"). This performance not only earned him the regional title but also pushed him to second on Oklahoma’s all-time list. Floyd Whitaker also had a standout day, jumping 16.27m (53’4.5") for fifth place, which places him fifth in OU’s history.
Kyren Washington capped off the day for the Sooners by tying for first in the high jump with a clearance of 2.17m (7’1.5"), making it over every height without a miss.
Freshman Evans Biwott also competed in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. He entered ranked 47th but finished 15th, clocking in a personal best of 8:42.60—making him third in OU’s outdoor history.
