University of Richmond Women’s Golf Shines at Mason Rudolph Classic: Finishes Strong in 13th Place!

Richmond, Tenn. — The Richmond Spiders women’s golf team wrapped up the Mason Rudolph Classic on a high note, scoring 14-over par (298) in the final round. This strong performance helped them rise two spots to finish 13th among 16 talented teams. Overall, they ended the event at 49-over par, finishing ahead of Middle Tennessee, Lipscomb, and Georgia Southern.

Spiders coach Calle Barlow expressed pride in the team’s effort. “It was a great experience playing in this challenging field. We struggled a bit with putting, but the team handled it well. I’m excited to see where the rest of the fall takes us—this group has real talent!”

Sophomore Katie Magner led the charge, finishing at 10-over par (223), tying for 44th place. Junior Maya Beasley closely followed, one shot behind in a tie for 49th. Both players carded solid rounds of 3-over 74 on Sunday.

Richmond’s other Round 3 scores came from senior Hannah Lydic and freshman Addie Doroh. Each shot 4-over par (75). Lydic finished the tournament tied for 64th with a total of 14-over par (227), while Doroh ended in a tie for 71st at 16-over par (229). Senior Olivia Wilkie placed 78th with a score of 22-over par (235).

This tournament showcased not only the skill but also the resilience of the team. The Spiders demonstrate the kind of potential that can lead to greater achievements as the season progresses, a sentiment echoed by many sports analysts. In collegiate golf, every round is an opportunity for growth, and Richmond appears well-positioned for success.
