University of Utah Welcomes Logan Andrews as New Assistant Diving Coach: What This Means for the Team’s Future!

The University of Utah has recently added Logan Andrews to its coaching team as an assistant diving coach. Head Diving Coach Richard Marschner revealed this exciting news last week.

Marschner expressed his enthusiasm about the hiring: “We’re lucky to have someone of Logan’s caliber on board. His experience with divers speaks volumes about the quality of our program. He’s ready to help elevate our team.”

Logan brings three years of coaching experience. He previously directed the diving program at the University of New Mexico, where he guided four athletes to NCAA Zone qualifications. A highlight was helping junior Isabella Gomez, who smashed a 15-year-old school record at the Mountain West Championships in 2025. In addition to Gomez, Utah divers Holly Waxman and Callie Eaglestone were also NCAA Zone finalists that year.

Before his New Mexico tenure, Logan coached at Ouachita Baptist University, achieving notable successes with freshmen divers who earned podium finishes at the New South Intercollegiate Swimming Conference Championships.

“I’m honored to join the University of Utah,” Andrew said. “The program has a tradition of excellence, and I can’t wait to contribute to our divers’ growth both in and out of the pool.”

A native of Lafayette, Indiana, Logan competed for Auburn University from 2017 to 2021. He qualified for NCAA Zones every year and made significant strides in the SEC Championships.

Logan’s arrival adds to a strong coaching team that includes Head Swim Coach Jonas Persson, Associate Head Coach Joe Smith, and several assistant coaches. Depending on graduate assistant dive coach Gabrielle Logozzo’s status, the diving staff could feature three coaches next season.

As diving continues to grow in popularity, programs like Utah’s are becoming increasingly competitive. Investing in skilled coaches like Logan could be key to nurturing talent and pushing for top national results in coming years.
