Super Evil Megacorp is keeping the fun alive with its game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, which launched on the Switch in 2024. Since then, they’ve added new characters and game modes, and there’s even more on the way for 2026.
Right now, players can enjoy the first downloadable content (DLC) of the year, featuring Alopex, a fast and agile mutant fox. She’s here to shake things up with her kama weapon and explosive kunai, making her a real threat in close combat.
This DLC isn’t just about Alopex. It also packs five new artifacts to spice up your gameplay:
- Polar Bear Netsuke – Every 10 seconds, unleashes a line of flames. If you’re under half health, the cooldown is reduced.
- The Maltese Hamster – Charges your Tool slower, but boosts its damage.
- Channel Six Mini Camera – Slower Special charge time with increased damage.
- Hot Cocoa (with Marshmallows) – Reduces your dashes but gives a speed boost when you do dash.
- Buddy the Wraith – An allied Utrom Wraith that levels up as you progress.
In addition to the paid DLC, there’s a free update adding challenge modes like ‘Pepper Runs’ to Arcade Mode. Players can also explore new combat rooms in areas like the Sewers, Docks, Streets, and Rooftops, along with a prestige system for Ninja Ranks and balancing tweaks.
When Splintered Fate first hit the shelves, it faced heavy comparisons to the popular game Hades. Critics noted that despite its charm and co-op options, it didn’t quite measure up to Hades’ high bar. An article from Gaming Analytics noted that many players expressed a desire for more unique content to differentiate it further from its predecessor. Even with its new updates, the conversation seems to linger on how it stands against the giants of the genre.
If you’re looking to dive into something fresh, this DLC might just offer the boost you need, whether you’re a longtime fan or just curious about how the game has evolved.
