Unleash the Fun: Explore Exciting Sports and Activities at the 74th Fit India Sundays on Cycle!

The 74th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle recently took place, attracting an impressive 50,000 participants at 5,000 locations nationwide. This initiative, which emphasizes cycling as a path to better health, was supported by the Goods & Services Tax (GST) and Customs Departments of India.

The event featured more than just cycling. In New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, over 800 people joined in activities like yoga, rope skipping, and Zumba. Attendees were invited to try badminton, chess, carrom, and ludo. Fun games such as a lemon race, tug of war, and various fitness challenges added to the excitement.

Since its inception in December 2024 by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Fit India movement has grown significantly. It has inspired about 3.2 million fitness enthusiasts across over 307,000 locations during 74 editions.

Manish Kumar, Chief Commissioner of the Customs Department, emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle. He stated, “Health is our biggest asset. A healthy person can accomplish tasks more effectively.”

Narendra Kumar Yadav, Additional Director (GST) and a Fit India Ambassador, highlighted that cycling contributes positively to the environment by helping reduce air pollution. Yadav reiterated the message from Prime Minister Modi about cycling’s benefits—not just for health but also for the economy, as it encourages fuel savings.

Fit India Sundays on Cycle is a collaborative effort involving several organizations, like the Cycling Federation of India and the Raahgiri Foundation. This program occurs simultaneously across all states and union territories, including various sports centers.
