During the recent Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight, Blizzard unveiled the next expansion for Diablo II: Resurrected, called Reign of the Warlock. This exciting update introduces a brand-new class, the Warlock, along with features like advanced Loot Filters and Stash Tabs, and a Colossal Ancient encounter. Players can start testing these features today, while the full Ladder Season 13 launches next week!
The Warlock is a game-changer. This class can wield a two-handed weapon with one hand while keeping an off-hand weapon ready. They have three Skill Trees to choose from:
- Chaos: Focuses on magic and fire spells.
- Eldritch: Allows manipulation of weapons in close combat, including Hexing abilities.
- Demon: Summons minions like Goatmen and Tainted, and can bind to various demons for augmented abilities.
In the new expansion, players can choose which Act to terrorize, making every zone within it more challenging but rewarding. The consumables used for this are tradeable. In Hell difficulty, you’ll encounter the new Heralds of Terror, which grow stronger each time you meet them.
Every 30 minutes, different Terrorized Zones become available. Defeating a boss in these zones may allow you to collect statues that reference the legendary Ancients. Combine all five in the Horadric Cube to unlock a unique encounter with the Colossal Ancients, testing your builds to their limits.
Alongside this, Reign of the Warlock introduces quality-of-life features:
- Loot Filters: Customize your loot experience to find items faster.
- Advanced Stash Tabs: Better organization for gems and other materials.
- Chronicle: Track your game achievements and where you found items to enhance your journey.
