Recently, Capcom dropped a new gameplay trailer for Sagat in Street Fighter 6. Fans of the franchise are buzzing with excitement as they see one of their favorite characters return with a fresh take.
The trailer shows off Sagat’s classic moves, like the Tiger Uppercut, Tiger Knee, and Tiger Shots. But there’s more to explore. He has a brand new knee strike called Tiger Nexus. This move allows for multiple follow-ups, including an overhead strike and a launching knee to extend combos.
What’s interesting is that Sagat can now charge his Tiger Uppercuts for a stronger, cinematic follow-up. His Level 1 Super Art, the Tiger Cannon, was also featured, and it’s powerful enough to break through Ryu’s Shinku Hadoken.
Sagat’s Level 2 Super, called Savage Tiger, has four unique versions, one of which launches opponents into the air for extended combos. His Level 3 Super, the Tiger Vanquisher, delivers a fierce beatdown—a great nod to his history with his former boss.
In addition to these moves, Sagat boasts impressive reach with his normals. His Muay Thai style shines through with even more elbow and knee strikes than before. Fans can also look forward to Outfit 2, which is a classic costume from the original Street Fighter series, and a sneak peek of his new stage, Proud Spire.
Sagat will officially launch on August 5, which coincides with the first set of Outfit 4 DLC. Interestingly, attendees at Evo 2025 next month can try him out a few days prior at Capcom’s booth, building even more anticipation around his character.
According to a recent survey from gaming sites, 75% of players are excited about character DLC that enhances gameplay, so Sagat’s return is likely to be well-received. The blend of nostalgia and innovation is what keeps fans coming back for more. As Sagat joins the fray once again, the excitement around Street Fighter 6 continues to grow.
