JBL has unveiled the PartyBox 720, their largest battery-powered speaker yet. It’s hefty, boasting 800 watts of power and a replaceable battery that lasts up to 15 hours. With two 9-inch woofers and 30mm dome tweeters, it promises powerful sound. Plus, it features JBL’s AI Sound Boost technology to enhance audio quality without distortion.
This speaker connects to others through Auracast and offers USB-C for direct streaming. It also adds a fun twist with a light display that syncs with your music. Designed for social gatherings, it has dual XLR ports for microphones and instruments, making it a great choice for karaoke nights.
But it comes with a high price tag of $1,099, slightly less than Marshall’s $1,300 model. While it may seem steep, high-quality party speakers are a significant investment these days. Pre-orders are open now, with shipments expected by September 21.
JBL also announced the Boombox 4, an upgrade from its predecessor. This model is lighter and features the same AI Sound Boost for clear audio. It’s durable with an IP68 rating, meaning it’s water and dustproof. The replaceable battery can last up to 28 hours, perfect for long outdoor events. Priced at $550, pre-orders are currently available, and it ships on September 28.
According to recent surveys, outdoor gatherings and music events are on the rise, with 70% of young adults attending parties in the past year alone. This increase highlights a growing interest in portable speakers that can enhance those experiences.
As technology and social habits evolve, the demand for high-quality sound at gatherings shows no signs of slowing down.
