Publisher Ysbryd Games and developer Necrosoft Games have pushed back the release of Demonschool from September 3 to November 19. The shift is mainly due to the imminent launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong on September 4. Demonschool will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
In a recent announcement, Ysbryd Games explained the decision:
They emphasized that releasing during such a competitive window could hinder the game’s visibility. With over a decade in indie publishing, they recognize how tough it can be to make a mark in the gaming landscape. Facing off against a highly anticipated title like Hollow Knight: Silksong would not benefit Demonschool.
The team believes that moving the release date will allow for better exposure and a more meaningful conversation around Demonschool. They assure fans this is a firm date, and no further delays are expected.
Until the new release date, Ysbryd and Necrosoft plan to enhance the game. Players can look forward to added minigames and multiple endings initially intended for post-launch updates. This means a richer experience right from day one.
The gaming community has shown a lot of excitement, reflecting a broader trend. Many players are sharing their anticipation on social media, comparing Demonschool to other games in the genre.
In summary, while delays can be frustrating, they sometimes lead to improved game quality. Ysbryd and Necrosoft are committed to delivering the best experience possible, and fans have a lot to look forward to in November.
