Unleash Your Weekend: Discover Fun Sports and Exciting Recreational Activities at the 74th Fit India Sundays on Cycle!

New Delhi saw an impressive turnout for the 74th Fit India Sundays on Cycle, with 50,000 participants cycling at 5,000 locations nationwide. This popular initiative, which promotes a fit lifestyle, was organized in partnership with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Customs Departments.

Alongside cycling, there were fun activities like yoga, rope skipping, and Zumba. At Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, over 800 people joined in. Attendees included GST and Customs officers, as well as locals of all ages.

A sports zone provided a chance for participants to engage in games like badminton, chess, and carrom. There were also entertaining challenges like tug-of-war and squat contests.

Since its launch by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in December 2024, the cycling effort has attracted 3.2 million fitness lovers across 307,852 locations, demonstrating significant growth over the past months.

Manish Kumar, Chief Commissioner of the Customs Department, emphasized the importance of health, saying, “Health is our biggest asset. When you’re healthy, you perform better.”

Narendra Kumar Yadav, an Additional Director with the GST, added that cycling benefits not only personal health but also helps reduce air pollution. He pointed out that cycling is essential for the environment and the economy, as it saves fuel.

The Fit India Sundays initiative is a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Cycling Federation of India, and several other organizations. Events take place across all states and union territories, encouraging communities to embrace fitness together.
