Unleashing Power: AMD’s Game-Changing 96-Core Threadripper 9000 Series CPU Challenges Intel’s Dominance!

AMD just unveiled its new Zen 5-based Ryzen Threadripper 9000 Series CPUs at Computex. This lineup is designed for high-performance workstations and features the impressive Threadripper Pro 9995WX, boasting 96 cores and 192 threads.

The Threadripper Pro 9995WX targets professionals in fields like visual effects, simulations, and AI development. It also includes 384MB of L3 cache and supports 128 lanes of PCIe Gen 5, making it perfect for setups with multiple GPUs.

AMD claims that this chip is 2.2 times faster than Intel’s 60-core Xeon W9-3595X in the Cinebench 2024 multi-threaded rendering test. That’s a significant leap in performance!

For those who don’t need all 96 cores, the Ryzen Threadripper 9980X offers 64 cores and 128 threads, with a base frequency of 3.2GHz and 320MB of L3 cache. This makes it suitable for creators and enthusiasts seeking powerful workstation capabilities without going for the top-tier model.

All Threadripper 9000 CPUs will run at a thermal design power (TDP) of 350 watts and will work with existing motherboards, assuming they’re updated for the sTR5 socket.

Availability is set for July, but AMD hasn’t provided pricing details yet. Considering the previous model, the high-end 7980X, was priced around $4,999, we can expect the new models to be similarly priced.

Experts in tech are excited about this release. They believe that with these powerful processors, AMD can challenge not only Intel but also push boundaries in AI and creative workstreams. Recent trends show that demand for high-performance computing is rising, especially among those in content creation and data analysis. According to a report by Statista, the market for AI and machine learning is expected to reach $190 billion by 2025, suggesting a growing need for these advanced processors.

In summary, the Threadripper 9000 Series is a significant step forward for AMD, aiming to meet the needs of today’s demanding workloads.
