EASTON, Pa. — Exciting news! This year, the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is offering $100,000 in environmental mini grants. These funds aim to encourage teamwork on projects that will help protect and promote the natural beauty of the Lehigh Valley.
The Lehigh Valley Greenways mini grants focus on land conservation, outdoor recreation, and enhancing community spaces. They also support local education and outreach efforts.
Applications are now open for the 2025 Lehigh Valley Greenways Mini Grant Program. This initiative specifically targets conservation projects in Lehigh and Northampton counties. The grants are made possible by the Lehigh Valley Greenways Conservation Landscape, funded by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
If you’re interested, you can find more information and the application guidelines on the Greenways website. Make sure to submit your application by 4 p.m. on March 13.
The program welcomes applications from municipalities, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and county conservation districts. Keep in mind that projects should last for one year, starting and finishing between June 1 and November 30, 2026.
Grant requests need to fall between $1,000 and $20,000. Additionally, the total cost of your project must be at least double the grant amount. A matching contribution in cash or services is also required at a 1:1 ratio.
Most grants between $10,000 and $20,000 will support resource management and infrastructure projects.
Before applying, applicants are encouraged to attend a pre-application meeting on February 13 at 9:30 a.m. This meeting will be held at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center in Washington Township.
Last year, over a dozen organizations received nearly $110,000 in support through this program, making a real difference in the community.
