Users are noticing renewed offers for Nest Aware subscriptions, slashing the yearly cost from $100 to just $50. Recently, the price increased, making the base Nest Aware service $100 per year or $10 per month. Nest Aware Plus, which offers more storage, now costs double that.

Both plans feature smart alerts for Familiar Faces and can detect smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, as well as provide access to emergency e911 services.

Interestingly, some users have reported that trying to cancel their subscriptions triggers a 50% discount offer. This applies to both Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus, reducing the renewal fee to $50 annually. However, this offer seems limited to users in the United States. Subscribers from Canada and Australia have not seen any similar deals.

Reports also suggest that even if a user has recently renewed, attempting to cancel often activates the discount. Users can find this option in the Google Home app, under the Nest Aware subscription management settings. In some tests, the discount did not appear.

This comes at a time when Google is planning to rebrand Nest Aware to “Google Home Premium” and the enhanced plan to “Google Home Premium Advanced.” However, given the price increase, a further hike seems unlikely. The current discounted offer may be an effort to retain subscribers during these changes.

In a similar vein, Google previously provided discounts to YouTube TV subscribers when its prices surged to $82.99 per month, allowing many to stick with the service in light of higher costs.
