Unlock a Piece of Cinematic History: Over 400 Personal Items from David Lynch Up for Auction!

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a piece of David Lynch’s world, now’s your chance. More than 400 items from the late filmmaker’s personal collection are up for auction, including some truly unique pieces.

Hosted by Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies, this sale features everything from customized guitars to memorabilia from Lynch’s groundbreaking works. Bidding is already underway for fans and collectors alike.

Among the interesting items are coffee machines and a quirky “Log Lady” mug related to his iconic show, Twin Peaks. There are even walkie-talkies emblazoned with his name. If you loved the show, you might get a kick out of the red curtains and patterned rugs that remind you of the “Red Room” dream sequences.

Not just for collectors, this sale includes relics from Lynch’s films, like prop matchbooks from Inland Empire and a 35mm print of Eraserhead. These pieces allow fans to dive deeper into Lynch’s imaginative universe.

Moreover, there are scripts and materials from two unfinished projects: Ronnie Rocket and The Dream of the Bovine. The former was a surreal detective story Lynch tried to revive multiple times, while the latter featured an odd premise involving former cows. Lynch once mentioned that Marlon Brando found it too "pretentious."

On a different note, Lynch was also passionate about music. You can find custom guitars, including a spectacular five-necked console guitar designed by Danny Ferrington. He even released two studio albums, showcasing his love for both film and sound.

His auction items reveal Lynch’s eye for design as well. You’ll find tools he used as a furniture designer, along with designer furniture from Eames and Knoll. These pieces tell a story about his creative journey beyond filmmaking.

Moreover, Lynch practiced transcendental meditation for decades. Items like an incense burner he created and a golden Buddha statuette are part of the auction, representing his spiritual side.

On a more personal note, Lynch’s health journey is reflected here as well. After being diagnosed with emphysema and facing challenges during the pandemic, he quit smoking. The auction includes a selection of ashtrays and cigarette lighters, hinting at his past habits.

As of now, the auction is set to conclude on June 18. Whether you’re a die-hard Lynch fan or just curious, exploring these objects offers a glimpse into the mind of one of cinema’s most unique voices.
