Garmin has unveiled an exciting new feature for its Lifestyle Logging tool, which is designed to help users track their daily habits. This tool, available through the Garmin Connect app, allows you to log various activities such as workouts, caffeine intake, and even journaling.
Recently, some users reported on Reddit that Garmin is rolling out an auto-logging functionality. This means that data for certain activities, like exercises, will be automatically recorded when your smartwatch syncs with your phone, eliminating the need to enter it manually. However, Garmin has not yet provided a complete list of which activities will be auto-logged.
Interestingly, this auto-logging feature is optional; you can turn it on or off in the app. Users will be notified by Garmin Connect when a compatible activity is detected and prompted to activate the feature. For activities that are not suitable for auto-logging, users will receive daily reminders to log them manually.
This enhancement is part of Garmin’s ongoing effort to simplify how users track their health and wellness. The Lifestyle Logging tool first appeared with the release of the Venu 4 smartwatch in September 2025. As the demand for fitness tracking grows, features like these could help users stay more engaged with their health goals.
According to a recent survey by the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association, 74% of adults want to use technology to improve their health. This shift shows how valuable tools like Garmin’s auto-logging can be for encouraging healthier habits. Social media trends also reveal that users are enthusiastic about the convenience and efficiency of automated tracking, sharing tips and experiences widely online.
For now, it’s still unclear when all users will gain access to this feature, but reports suggest that wider availability is expected by November 2025. With the rise of health tech and an emphasis on self-care, Garmin’s new capabilities may just be the tool users need to stay on top of their wellness journeys.
