Unlock Enhanced AI Features with Microsoft Edge’s Exciting New Copilot Mode!

Microsoft’s Copilot Mode brings AI assistance right to your browsing experience. It merges AI-driven responses, search results, and navigation all in one window. Unlike before, you can now ask Copilot to summarize information across all your open tabs, not just the one you’re currently viewing.

Initially an experimental feature, Copilot is now widely accessible with some fresh options in limited preview. One of these is Copilot Actions, letting you perform tasks like canceling subscriptions or making reservations. While this sounds great, the reliability isn’t perfect yet. For instance, when I tried to delete an email, Copilot claimed it was done, but the email remained. It also inaccurately reported that it sent an email I’d composed.

In a recent attempt to secure a table at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York, Copilot intended to book for November 26 but mistakenly chose October 26 instead. These hiccups are important to note, especially since Copilot warns users that it’s still in a testing phase and may err in its actions.

One interesting aspect of Copilot Mode is its ability to use your browsing history to tailor responses, given you permit it. Along with this, Microsoft has introduced Journeys, another AI feature that organizes your browsing into topics and suggests what to search for next. Though I haven’t fully explored it yet, the idea sounds promising for revisiting familiar topics quickly.

Experts in technology stress that while AI tools like Copilot can enhance our online experiences, we should use them cautiously. According to a recent survey, 62% of users worry about AI accuracy in completing tasks. This highlights a need for continued development and improvement in AI capabilities.
