Unlock Enhanced Performance: Framework’s 13-Inch Laptop Now Powered by Ryzen AI 300 CPU Upgrade!

Framework is launching a new board that meets Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC standards. This board includes exciting features like Windows Recall, currently in preview. Copilot+ PCs offer advanced AI capabilities that regular Windows 11 machines can’t run without a specific requirement: a neural processing unit (NPU) that delivers at least 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS). Framework’s Ryzen AI 300 board is special because it has an NPU that meets these standards. It’s the third board from Framework to include an NPU, joining the AMD Ryzen 7040 and Intel Meteor Lake models.

Additionally, Framework will continue to sell the older Ryzen 7040 boards at a reduced price of $749. While these chips are older, they’re not outdated. AMD even promotes refreshed versions of this technology under its “Ryzen 200” line.

With each new board, Framework typically offers upgraded accessories for both current and future Framework Laptop 13 users. This time, they’re releasing a second-generation keyboard. It keeps the same comfortable 1.5mm key travel but has wider keys like the shift and spacebar designed to minimize buzzing when the volume is up. The updated version also features a Copilot key, while a more standard version for DIY editions will replace it with a Super key marked by the Framework logo instead of the Windows logo.

On the style front, users can now choose from new translucent bezels and USB-C expansion cards in purple, green, and black. These join the existing colorful options like orange, green, purple, and red USB-C expansion cards available in the Framework online store.
