Prego is trying to add some excitement to family dinners with its new gadget called the Connection Keeper. Made in partnership with the nonprofit StoryCorps, this small device looks like a hockey puck and sits on the dinner table to capture family conversations.
The Connection Keeper records up to eight hours of audio using two microphones. It doesn’t require WiFi or Bluetooth – just press a button and start talking. After your meal, you can plug it into a computer to transfer the recordings. You have choices: keep them private, share them, or even archive them at the Library of Congress. The recordings can also be played later through the StoryCorps app.
This innovative idea aims to create lasting memories around the dinner table. The kit includes the recorder, a jar of Prego sauce, spaghetti, conversation-starter cards, and a USB-C charging cable. Prego is producing fewer than 100 units, each selling for $20.
