Recent data indicates that air travel is at record levels. As the U.S. Northeast braces for severe winter weather, airline cancellations have surged, with more than 6,000 flights cut. This has added to the stress of travelers who already face long lines and wait times due to staffing challenges.
Political leaders have faced backlash for turning air travel into a bargaining chip. The U.S. Travel Association, representing hotels and tourism-related businesses, condemned the decision, arguing that travelers should not be collateral damage in political disputes.
