Applications for the Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Program will start on May 1. This program aims to support local community and business groups within the Golden Plains Shire by funding projects in tourism, economic development, and climate change.
This year, there’s a total of $75,000 available in grant funding. The program is designed to help groups implement meaningful projects that benefit the community and enhance the local economy.
Golden Plains Mayor Owen Sharkey expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This program empowers local organizations to create impactful initiatives. It’s about celebrating our region and making a positive difference.”
Applications will be open until June 1. Each application should request more than $2,000, and groups can apply for funding for up to three years if they have ongoing projects or annual events.
Statistics show that funding community projects can significantly boost local economies. For instance, a recent study revealed that every dollar invested in community development can yield three dollars in return for the local economy.
If you are interested in applying, visit the Golden Plains Shire website for more details or to reach out to their community grants team for help with your application.
