Unlock Real-World AI Assistance: Microsoft Introduces Copilot Vision for Windows and Mobile

Microsoft is making waves with its Copilot Vision feature, expanding it beyond just web use. Last year, Copilot Vision debuted as part of a redesign, but until now, it was mostly used on Edge webpages to help guide users.

Now, Copilot Vision can analyze live video from your mobile camera. This means you can get real-time advice on keeping your plants healthy or tips for home decor. It’s launching on the Copilot app for iOS and Android, with Windows support coming soon.

For Windows users, the Copilot app will undergo significant updates. This upgrade allows the AI assistant to help you navigate software like Adobe Photoshop and analyze images or web content on your screen.

It’s important to note that Copilot Vision is different from Microsoft’s Recall feature found on Copilot Plus PCs. While Recall automatically takes snapshots, Copilot Vision operates more like screen sharing in a Microsoft Teams call, focusing on live interactions.

Starting next week, Windows Insiders will get a first look at Copilot Vision. After testing, it will be available more broadly. Alongside this feature, Microsoft is rolling out several enhancements to Copilot, including memory support and new tools for personalized assistance, web actions, podcast creation, and in-depth research.

To illustrate the interest in AI tools like Copilot, a recent survey by Pew Research found that about 47% of Americans say they have used an AI tool in some form. As technology evolves, features like Copilot Vision reflect growing expectations for intelligent, responsive software that assists with everyday tasks.
