Unlock Stunning Visuals: A Step-by-Step Guide to Enabling Hardware Lumen Ray Tracing, Ray Reconstruction, and Frame Generation in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Recently, a new mod has emerged that allows players to unlock the framerate in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Alongside this, there are also tweaks available to enable Hardware Lumen Ray Tracing, Ray Reconstruction, and Frame Generation. Many fans believe these features should have been included in the game’s settings, especially considering its price point of 80 euros. Thankfully, there’s now a way to activate them.

First up is Hardware Lumen Ray Tracing. This option enhances shadows, lighting, and ambient effects, creating a more immersive experience. However, it can reduce performance, so it’s best suited for those with a powerful GPU.

To enable this feature, navigate to the Engine.ini file located in:
AppData\Local\MGSDelta\Saved\Config\Windows. In this file, find the [SystemSettings] section and add the following commands:

r.Lumen.HardwareRayTracing=1
r.Lumen.Reflections.HardwareRayTracing=1
r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.HardwareRayTracing=1
r.LumenScene.DirectLighting.HardwareRayTracing=1

Next, if you want to use DLSS Frame Generation, you’ll need to insert a few additional commands. The first turns on DLSS Frame Gen, the second enables Reflex, and the third sets its mode. There are optional commands to help minimize visual artifacts:

r.Streamline.DLSSG.Enable=1
t.Streamline.Reflex.Enable=1
t.Streamline.Reflex.Mode=1
r.Streamline.DilateMotionVectors=1
r.NGX.DLSS.AutoExposure=1

For AMD users, activating FSR 3.1 Frame Generation is simple. Just add this command: r.FidelityFX.FI.Enabled=1.

You can also improve the quality of reflections by enabling Ray Reconstruction. To do this, use the command r.NGX.DLSS.denoisermode=1. Like Hardware Lumen, this feature can impact performance, so it’s best reserved for high-end NVIDIA GPUs.

These tweaks can significantly enhance the visuals of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on PC. Frame Generation is particularly important in helping to manage the load of these demanding features. Many players hope the developers will include these options in future updates.

If you encounter issues with the Framerate Unlock mod, consider switching to the latest version of MGSDeltaFix.

Enjoy the nostalgic journey back into the world of Metal Gear and stay tuned for future updates!
