Microsoft is rolling out a new feature called Copilot Vision for Windows. This AI assistant aims to enhance user experience by allowing you to share your screen or apps for real-time help. For instance, it can guide you through using Adobe Photoshop or analyze images and webpages while you work.

When you turn on Copilot Vision, it becomes your second pair of eyes. It can see what you see and converse with you about it. “It acts as your second set of eyes,” says the Copilot team, emphasizing its capability to analyze content and provide insights as you navigate tasks.

Originally tested earlier this year, Copilot Vision is now available for free to Windows 10 and 11 users in the U.S. You won’t need a Copilot Pro subscription anymore, although it remains part of Microsoft’s experimental initiatives in AI.

The feature can be accessed via an icon that looks like glasses within the Copilot app. Users can opt to share specific apps with the AI. It’s not like some features that take constant screenshots; instead, you need to enable it each time you want assistance.

While I haven’t explored it fully yet—it’s limited to the U.S.—I did try it briefly at Microsoft’s 50th anniversary event. Once you share an application, Copilot can highlight parts of your screen and answer your questions, making it a handy tool for multitasking.

Interestingly, the rise of AI tools like Copilot Vision reflects a growing trend toward smart technologies in everyday tasks. According to a recent Gallup survey, nearly 70% of workers believe AI can significantly enhance their productivity. This intersection of technology and usability is clearly a focus area for Microsoft and other tech companies.
