MOUNT VERNON — The Food For The Hungry of Knox County will open its grant application process for the 2025 campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 8 a.m. Applications will close on Friday, Oct. 31, at noon, and late submissions won’t be accepted.
Every year, funds raised during the FFTH Winter Drive are set aside to help local non-profits that provide essential food services. These grants often support food pantries and organizations that offer hot meals to those in need.
When evaluating applications, factors like the number of people served and the level of volunteer engagement play a critical role. Recipients are chosen based on these details to ensure maximum community impact.
Interested groups can find the application on the [Food For The Hungry website](https://www.FoodForTheHungryCares.org). Details are located on the home page or under the “Who We Help” tab. All applications must be submitted by noon on Oct. 31.
Organizations chosen for grants will be notified by mid-November. They will be highlighted during Food For The Hungry LIVE, a live-stream and radio event, on Dec. 12 at the Memorial Theater in Knox Memorial.
On social media, Food For The Hungry shares updates on their programs. You can follow them on Facebook at @FoodForTheHungryKnoxCounty and on Instagram at @ffthcares for the latest news and community initiatives.

This initiative relies on the generosity of our community, showing how we can all come together to support our neighbors in need.
In recent years, food insecurity has been on the rise across the U.S., with surveys from the U.S. Department of Agriculture showing that nearly 10.5% of households faced food shortages as of 2021. Local efforts like those from Food For The Hungry play a vital role in addressing this issue. Engaging with and supporting such organizations can make a real difference in our community.
