IIT Ropar Partners with Indian Army for MTech in Defence Technology
IIT Ropar has teamed up with the Indian Army to launch a Master of Technology (MTech) program focused on defence technology. This initiative is aimed at officers from the Armoured Corps Centre and School, aiming to blend education with military needs.

This initiative is part of the broader vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” which aims for a developed India by 2047.
Graduates of this program will earn a degree from IIT Ropar. This qualification will empower them to lead technological advancements within armoured units and support efforts for self-sufficiency in defence manufacturing.
The agreement also sets up a framework for joint research and development to tackle key technological issues in India’s defence sector. Some key areas of focus include new technologies for armoured fighting vehicles, advanced weaponry solutions, and innovative materials.
